The National Security Institute for Innovation (NSII) is UConn’s university-wide framework for advancing national security through interdisciplinary research, education, innovation, and talent development. NSII connects UConn expertise with government and industry to address complex national security challenges.

NSII brings UConn expertise to national security challenges across five interconnected areas of focus. These areas reflect the breadth of capabilities across the university and provide a foundation for advancing knowledge, developing new technologies, and addressing evolving national security needs.

NSII creates connections that bring research and new technologies together with education and hands-on learning, while building the skills and talent needed to put ideas into practice.
